Football Recap: Quitman Skates Past St. Andrew's Episcopal with Ease

Quitman had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past the St. Andrew's Episcopal Saints 42-8. Considering the Panthers have won four matchups by more than 33 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Quitman had a senior duo take command as Bryce Gavin threw for 144 yards and three touchdowns and Shunzarious Dear picked up 63 receiving yards and three TDs. Gavin has become a key player for the Panthers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 3-4 otherwise.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Quitman's defense and their five sacks. Leading the way was Brytyavis Dear with two.

Quitman's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for St. Andrew's Episcopal, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Quitman didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 23-16 defeat against Magee on the 7th. St. Andrew's Episcopal does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
