Basketball Recap: Sheridan Hills Christian Takes a Loss

Sheridan Hills Christian was the 74-48 winner over FAU High when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Sheridan Hills Christian Sharks lost to the FAU High Owls at home by a 50-35 margin on Friday.

When it comes to explaining why Sheridan Hills Christian lost, don't look at Micah Smith. Despite the final result, he posted nine points along with six boards and six blocks. Smith has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last six times he's played. Abraham Seay was another key player, putting up six points and five assists.

Leading FAU High to victory were Tristan Etienne and Jarret Mauvais. Etienne dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds, while Mauvais went 5 of 12 on his way to 17 points and five assists.

Sheridan Hills Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for FAU High, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Sheridan Hills Christian will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pine Crest at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. FAU High also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against Coral Springs Charter at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
