Football Game Preview: Enfield Eagles vs. East Hartford Hornets + Official Tickets

Two dominant signal callers in Sawyer Pequita and Anthony Caravallo are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. After each having a week off, the Enfield Eagles and the East Hartford Hornets will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Enfield has given up an average of 31.6 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Enfield is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games last Friday. They were beaten by Windsor 52-7. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, East Hartford lost to Simsbury on the road by a 42-28 margin last Friday.

Enfield will have to contain Isaiah Tripp as he made an impact in East Hartford's last game. He picked up 135 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Even if they lost, East Hartford's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: David Cordero and Ebenezer Annan, who each picked up one sack apiece.

East Hartford's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Enfield, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Thursday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Enfield has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 150.8 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for East Hartford, though, as they've been averaging only 96.2 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?

Enfield came out on top in a nail-biter against East Hartford in their previous meeting back in September of 2023, sneaking past 47-44. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Hornets' Drayvn Roberts, who rushed for 204 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries, and also threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes.
