Basketball Recap: Vivien Baker Key Part of Team Effort in Wildcats Win

Linn won the last time they faced Osage and things went their way on Thursday too. The Linn Wildcats took down the Osage Indians 62-46. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Indians are ranked 261st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Linn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Vivien Baker, who went 8-for-11 on her way to 17 points. Baker continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Hannah Hackmann, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 17 points.

Linn was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Linn is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points over those games. As for Osage, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats take on the Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Tipton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 17 games. As for Osage, they will challenge California at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
