Basketball Recap: Walkertown Comes Up Short

Walkertown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the North Forsyth Vikings 63-8. The Wolfpack lost against the Vikings in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 2-0 score last time.

It was another big night for Jylyia Mizell, who posted 32 points along with six rebounds and five steals for North Forsyth. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Mizell has scored at least a third of North Forsyth's points. Another player making a difference was Ariel Odugba, who put up 11 points and six boards.

Walkertown's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for North Forsyth, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-6 record.

Walkertown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 62-30 loss against McMichael on the 9th. North Forsyth has also already played their next contest, a 63-28 win against West Stokes on the 15th.
