Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kaylie Zirger and Za'ni Carter Lead Duluth to Victory

Duluth won the last time they faced Meadowcreek and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Duluth Wildcats walked away with a 56-49 victory over the Meadowcreek Mustangs.

Duluth was led to victory by Za'Ni Carter and Kaylie Zirger. Carter went 8 of 20 on her way to 27 points along with six boards and three steals, while Zirger made all 5 shots she took to post 15 points in addition to five assists and five boards. That's the most assists Zirger has posted since back in February of 2024.

Duluth's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Meadowcreek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-11.

Duluth and Meadowcreek could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Duluth (ranked 350th) will meet Norcross (ranked 40th) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Meadowcreek (ranked 446th) will meet Brookwood (ranked 190th) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
