Volleyball Game Preview: Arrowhead Warhawks vs. Kettle Moraine Lasers

The Arrowhead Warhawks will face off against the Kettle Moraine Lasers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Arrowhead is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Wisconsin's top teams: Hamilton, who was ranked third at the time (Arrowhead was ranked 12th). The Warhawks fell 2-0 to the Chargers on Saturday. The Warhawks' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

While Arrowhead ultimately came up short, they really made Hamilton work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-27, 25-15.

Despite their defeat, Arrowhead saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. William Cornell, who had 15 assists and four digs, was perhaps the best of all. Cornell has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more assists the last four times he's played.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Kettle Moraine, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They skirted past Oconomowoc 3-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lasers as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.

Kettle Moraine took Oconomowoc into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 23-25, 16-25, 17-15.

Arrowhead's loss dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Kettle Moraine, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Arrowhead took their win against Kettle Moraine in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Warhawks repeat their success, or do the Lasers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
