It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Riverside ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They skirted past the Old Forge Blue Devils 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Blue Devils back in April, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

Riverside saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Taddonio, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Riverside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Old Forge, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.

Coming up, Riverside will face off against Scranton Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cavaliers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. Old Forge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
