Football Recap: Leslie Starts off Right with Win over Stockbridge + How To Watch

Leslie gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Stockbridge Panthers with a sharp 44-22 victory. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-8.

Joel Cranmore went supernova, throwing for 308 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 15.4 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 71 yards and one TD. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024. Braydin Johnson was another key player, picking up 146 receiving yards and three scores.

Leslie didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Stockbridge to a completion percentage of just 26.7%. The Blackhawks weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 52.4%.

Loss or not, Stockbridge got some senior leadership from Noah Sandecki and Brandon Hamlett. Sandecki rushed for 151 yards and one touchdown, while Hamlett rushed for 115 yards and one TD while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 61 yards.

Leslie has already played their next contest, a 34-8 win against Addison on the 5th. As for Stockbridge, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 39-24 defeat against Centreville on the 5th.
