Volleyball Recap: Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy Find Success

Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy's tournament run continued when they took on Patterson Institute on Friday. The Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Lions.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 21-25, 15-8.

Annalysa Martinez was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 30 digs. That's the most digs she has posted over her last ten matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Glory Spratt, who had nine digs.

Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive games.
