Football Recap: Marlin Bulldogs vs. Lexington Eagles
Marlin unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Lexington Eagles on Friday, falling 55-26. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
De'Angelo Wright threw for 160 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes. Keyshaun Massington was his top target, picking up 132 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
Kase Evans was nothing short of spectacular for Lexington: he threw for 188 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes, and also rushed for 75 yards. Those 75 rushing yards gave Evans a new career-high. Jurian Moore also helped with two scores in total.
Marlin didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 40-7 defeat against Honey Grove on the 4th. As for Lexington, they have also already played their next contest, a 21-14 win against Little River Academy on the 5th.
