Recap: Filer Wildcats vs. Dietrich Blue Devils
There's no place like home for the Filer Wildcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 54-43 victory over Dietrich on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given Filer's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Dietrich is ranked 20th).
Filer's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reese Hills, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Hazel Fischer was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds and five steals.
Filer's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Dietrich, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-3.
Filer will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Gooding at 7:30 p.m. As for Dietrich, they will head out on the road to take on Hagerman at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
