Softball Recap: West Washington Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, West Washington was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Assumption Rockets. The Senators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

West Washington saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Meredith Deaton, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

West Washington's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Assumption, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-8.

West Washington and Assumption should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in their respective state rankings. The Senators (ranked 45th) will meet Mitchell (ranked 286th) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Assumption will square off against Mercer County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (7 vs. 52).
