Basketball Recap: Magnolia Science Academy Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Magnolia Science Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They breezed past the Magnolia Science Academy 5 Lobos to the tune of 63-36 on Wednesday. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lobos, too.

Magnolia Science Academy had a senior duo take command as Tobi Bamidele dropped a double-double with 22 points and 13 boards and Burak Keskinturk dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. Keskinturk has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Noe Montes De Oca, who posted five points and four steals.

Magnolia Science Academy and Magnolia Science Academy 5 will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Pirates see the court they'll take on Santa Ana at 7:25 p.m. on November 17. As for Magnolia Science Academy 5, their break will end when they face Westmark at 4:30 p.m. on November 19.
