Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jefferson). They breezed past the West Hall Spartans to the tune of 49-6 on Friday. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Jefferson can attribute much of their success to Colton Grant, who rushed for 45 yards and one TD. The dominant performance also gave Grant a new career-high in passer rating (137.5). Dalton Dye also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for West Hall, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Jefferson is set to take on their familiar foe Monroe Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Dragons 11.3, the Purple Hurricanes 11.3) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, West Hall will challenge rival Cherokee Bluff at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
