Basketball Recap: Adams Takes a Loss

After flying high against Spruce last Tuesday, Adams came back down to earth. The Adams Cougars took a blow against the Seagoville Dragons on Friday, falling 68-27. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1219th, while the Dragons are ranked 387th).

Despite the defeat, Adams had strong showings from Victor Offord, who posted nine points, and Chris Robinson, who put up nine points. Those nine points gave Offord a new career-high.

Travion Hall continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Seagoville, going 12 for 20 on his way to 26 points and eight rebounds. Hall's evening made it 12 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaden Hall, who had nine points and seven boards.

Adams' loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Seagoville, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 17-12 record this season.

Adams has already played their next contest, a 72-23 defeat against North Mesquite on the 28th. As for Seagoville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-46 loss against West Mesquite on the 28th.
