Basketball Recap: Noblesville Sets Scoring Season-High Against Mississinewa

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Noblesville). They claimed a resounding 83-32 victory over the Mississinewa Indians. Given the Millers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth in Indiana, while the Indians are ranked 237th in Indiana), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Noblesville to victory were Baron Walker and T.J. Davidson. Walker almost dropped a double-double with 27 points and nine boards, while Davidson went 7-for-8 to rack up 16 points in addition to six assists and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, Davidson now owns an excellent 46.2% field goal percentage. Luke Fogg also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Noblesville was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyvon Jacobs, who posted six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Da'Vion Speikes, who earned seven points.

Noblesville is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points over those games. Mississinewa's loss dropped their record down to 9-12.

Noblesville and Mississinewa are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Noblesville will challenge Carmel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Noblesville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.4 points per game this season. As for Mississinewa, they will square off against Manchester at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Manchester's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 16 games.
