Softball Recap: Cibola Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Cibola's offense. They lost 9-0 to the Highland Hawks on Friday. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Cibola saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Kasid, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Kasid's first of the season.

Cibola has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. The win was the third in a row for Highland, bringing their record for this year to 6-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cibola will welcome San Luis at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The match will give Cibola their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Highland, they will host Cesar Chavez at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Highland is facing Cesar Chavez at the right time seeing as Cesar Chavez is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
