            Softball Preview: Elmwood Park Tigers vs. West Chicago Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            The Elmwood Park Tigers will venture away from home to  challenge the West Chicago Wildcats  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Elmwood Park's hitters haven't  had much luck over their past five  contests, but Tuesday's   matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.
Monday just wasn't the day for Elmwood Park's offense. They lost  15-0 to Ridgewood on Monday.
 Elmwood Park saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Ava Bowser, who  went 1-for-2 with one  double.
Meanwhile, West Chicago never let their opponents score on Monday. They skirted past Glenbard East  2-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
  Jasmyn Trigueros made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with one  triple and one  run. That  triple marked the first that  she has  hit this season.
 West Chicago has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Elmwood Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
 Elmwood Park's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's   matchup. The Tigers have been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 3.2  stolen bases per game. It's a different story for West Chicago, though, as  they've been averaging  only 1  stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Elmwood Park continue to outrun the ball?
