Basketball Game Preview: River Forest Ingots vs. Hanover Central Wildcats

River Forest is 2-8 against Hanover Central since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The two teams will face off at 7:00 p.m. without much rest, having both just played. River Forest knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Hanover Central likes a good challenge.

River Forest is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took down Kankakee Valley 56-42.

Meanwhile, Hanover Central beat Lowell 45-33 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won five in a row.

Hanover Central's victory bumped their record up to 14-12. As for River Forest, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

River Forest couldn't quite finish off Hanover Central in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 48-46. Can River Forest avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
