Football Recap: Hardaway Comes Up Short at Home Against Jackson

Hardaway unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Jackson Red Devils on Thursday, falling 38-0. The Hawks lost against the Red Devils in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 24-14 score last time.

Danarri Brown had an outrageously good game for Jackson as he rushed for 162 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries, and also picked up 54 receiving yards and one touchdown. Brown's longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Jaison McCall was another key player, picking up 94 receiving yards and one score.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hardaway is headed away from home for the first time to take on Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jackson, they will head out to square off against Mary Persons at 7:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
