Volleyball Recap: Gateway Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Gateway lost against East Ridge back in September of 2016 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Panthers fell 3-1 to the Knights.

Gateway started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-23.

Leslian Rivera Alomar paced Gateway's offense, picking up 19 kills. Rivera Alomar got some help from Gabriela Alvarez and her 33 assists. Rivera Alomar also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Angelly Soto, each putting up two.

Gateway's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for East Ridge, their victory ended a five-match drought on the road and puts them at 9-5.

Gateway didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Poinciana on the 22nd. As for East Ridge, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Winter Haven on the 17th.
