Volleyball Recap: Marshfield Tigers vs. D.C. Everest Evergreens

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Marshfield had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the D.C. Everest Evergreens. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 22-25, 25-17.

Marshfield can attribute much of their success to Michelle Potts, who had seven digs and three aces.

Marshfield was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive contests.

Loss or not, D.C. Everest got some senior leadership from Ryden Lehrke and Ahna Denk. Lehrke had 19 digs and three aces, while Denk had five aces and four digs. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for Denk.

Marshfield pushed their record up to 37-4 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home. As for D.C. Everest, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 24-12 record.

Marshfield will square off against Hudson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. D.C. Everest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
