Softball Game Preview: Lick-Wilmerding Tigers vs. California School for the Deaf Eagles

The Lick-Wilmerding Tigers will face off against the California School for the Deaf Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lick-Wilmerding has given up an average of 18.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lick-Wilmerding came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 21-2 to University. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four contests, California School for the Deaf finally came back down to earth on Wednesday. They came up short against St. Joseph Notre Dame, falling 12-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since April 18, 2024.

California School for the Deaf saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alice Seyffart, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was Seyffart's first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, California School for the Deaf fell to 11-1. As for Lick-Wilmerding, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Lick-Wilmerding might still be hurting after the 11-5 defeat they got from California School for the Deaf in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
