Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Hamilton

Hamilton barely beat Muscle Shoals the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hamilton Aggies never let the Muscle Shoals Trojans get on the board and left with a 6-0 win on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Aggies sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Hamilton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brilyn Gilstrap, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Another was Darcy Tittle, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Hamilton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in five consecutive matchups.

Hamilton pushed their record up to 6-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.7 runs. As for Muscle Shoals, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Hamilton will be taking part in a tournament against Mars Hill Bible at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. Hamilton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Mars Hill Bible's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Muscle Shoals, they will face off against Athens at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Athens is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
