Baseball Game Preview: Alonso Ravens vs. Windermere Wolverines

For the second straight game, Alonso will face off against Windermere. The Ravens will face off against the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Alonso's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Windermere's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Alonso heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Thursday. They fell 10-5 to Windermere. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Ravens, who until this game were averaging 3.48 runs allowed.

For Windermere's part, Oscar Fernandez looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Fernandez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Randy Ruiz was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run and four runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Waddingham, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs.

Windermere always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alonso only posted an OBP of .344.

Windermere has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 22-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Alonso, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-11.
