Baseball Recap: Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Wins Going Away Against Webber

Odin/Patoka/Sandoval's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Webber Trojans with a sharp 12-1 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by seven runs or more this season.

Drew Haines was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He is becoming a predictor of Odin/Patoka/Sandoval's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is undefeated (and 2-6 when he doesn't). Haines was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Bo Chapman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Heydin Purcell, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Odin/Patoka/Sandoval was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Odin/Patoka/Sandoval's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Webber, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Odin/Patoka/Sandoval will venture away from home to take on Brownstown/St. Elmo at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Odin/Patoka/Sandoval is facing Brownstown/St. Elmo at the right time seeing as Brownstown/St. Elmo is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Webber, they will head out to face off against Century at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Centurions will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight.
