Basketball Recap: Make It Eight in a Row for Steubenville

While Steubenville didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They claimed a resounding 69-37 win over the Catholic Central Crusaders. The Big Red have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 29 points or more this season.

Steubenville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Santino Haney, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Davis, who went 6 of 11 en route to 18 points and six rebounds.

The win (which was Steubenville's eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.8 points per game. As for Catholic Central, they moved to 9-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Steubenville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 92-53 victory against River View on the 4th. As for Catholic Central, they will head out to face off against Buckeye Local at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
