Volleyball Recap: Straughn Comes Up Short

Straughn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Providence Christian Eagles. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in September of 2023.

Blakeley Smith paced Straughn's offense, picking up 15 kills. Smith got some help from Kylee Brown and her nine assists. Audrey Lindsey controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Straughn's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Providence Christian, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Straughn has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Leon on the 13th. As for Providence Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Evangel Christian on the 13th.
