Basketball Recap: Franklin Takes a Loss

Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They took a 59-44 bruising from the Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons. The Flyers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Franklin still got an impressive performance from Eldon Haack, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Caiden Peterman, who posted eight points along with seven assists and three steals.

Wilcox-Hildreth found their leader in freshman Landon Lienemann, who went 7 for 17 on his way to 23 points. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for Lienemann. Cody Schriner was another key player, putting up four points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Wilcox-Hildreth, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-15.

Franklin has already played their next matchup (against Blue Hill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Wilcox-Hildreth wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-35 defeat against Overton on the 1st.
