Basketball Recap: Peak to Peak Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Peak to Peak came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 66-61 victory over the Prospect Ridge Academy Miners. That's more bragging rights for the Pumas, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Peak to Peak's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tysen Burton led the charge by going 9 of 13 en route to 22 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That's the most points Burton has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nyima Chonden, who posted 14 points.

When it comes to explaining why Prospect Ridge Academy lost, don't look at Travis Agbosse. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. Agbosse is becoming a predictor of Prospect Ridge Academy's success: when he posts at least ten rebounds the team is 9-2 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Liam Schilling was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Peak to Peak's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-4.

Peak to Peak will square off against Denver Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Forge Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Prospect Ridge Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Forge Christian likes a good challenge.
