McCutcheon's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Kankakee Valley Kougars by a score of 8-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mavericks as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Kaidynn Peckinpaugh, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 11 matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Kacie Nading, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
