Cushing will venture away from home to challenge Fort Gibson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cushing knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Fort Gibson likes a good challenge.
On Thursday, Cushing blew past Miami, posting a 34-7 win. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Wardogs are ranked 135th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Roman Tucker had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 70 yards and a pair of TDs on only five carries, while also throwing for 195 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes. He has been hot, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last five times he's played.
Meanwhile, Fort Gibson took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 49-14 victory over Catoosa. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Fort Gibson found their leader in sophomore Karrson Davis, who threw for 182 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 passes, and also rushed for 33 yards. The Tigers also got help from Brody Hansen, who showed off his sure hands for 82 receiving yards.
Fort Gibson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Eric Shannon Jr. and Chase Meissner. Fort Gibson received some extra help from Alex Vafeas, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Cushing's record is now 7-1. As for Fort Gibson, their record now sits at 6-2.
Cushing strolled past Fort Gibson in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 40-23. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Hansen, who picked up 114 receiving yards and two scores.
