Basketball Recap: Big Sandy Red Devils vs. West Carroll War Eagles
The Big Sandy Red Devils came into Thursday's matchup having lost ten straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against West Carroll by a score of 60-51 on Thursday. Big Sandy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for Bailey Berry, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Big Sandy's points. Another player making a difference was Kaylyn Jackson, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Big Sandy's victory ended a 17-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-15. As for West Carroll, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.
Big Sandy will head out on the road to square off against the War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for West Carroll, they will look to defend their home court against the Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. Big Sandy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 14-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
