Basketball Recap: Cape Fear Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

Cape Fear extended their road winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Damien Gary. Everything went the Cape Fear Colts' way against the Douglas Byrd Eagles on Wednesday as the Cape Fear Colts made off with a 63-37 win thanks in part to Gary, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 11 points along with seven assists and five boards. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played.

Another player making a difference was Bryan Charles, who posted four points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards.

Douglas Byrd's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Williams, who put up six points. Mehki Baines was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

Cape Fear has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Douglas Byrd, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Cape Fear wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 66-39 defeat against Seventy-First on the 31st.
