Softball Game Preview: Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Crusaders vs. Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves

The Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Crusaders will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Indianapolis Scecina Memorial is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They lost 19-0 to Indianapolis Bishop Chatard two weeks ago. The Crusaders have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 1, 2024. They blew past Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter 17-4. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Sophie Braun made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and not a single walk). Braun was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Danica Geyer, who fired off three home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-4. Those three home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elle Feltman, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter only posted an OBP of .320.
