Softball Preview: Aquinas Knights vs. Minerva Lions
The Aquinas Knights will head out on the road to take on the Minerva Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Aquinas comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Aquinas lost 9-3 to Central Christian on Tuesday.

AyraBella Bacorn made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ta'Leyah Williams, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Minerva had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out River View 9-8.
Natalie Essick and Sierra Cress did most of the damage at the plate: Essick scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Cress scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. That stolen base marked the first that Essick snagged this season. Rachel Weaver was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-5.
Minerva hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as River View struck out seven times.
Minerva's record is now 4-6. As for Aquinas, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
