Hampton took a 20-point defeat the last time they faced off against Shaler Area, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Talbots slipped by the Titans 25-24 on Friday. For the Talbots, this counts as revenge for the 33-13 victory the Titans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Hampton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Willy Haselrig, who rushed for 101 yards, and also threw for 92 yards and a pair of TDs. The Talbots also relied on Haselrig, who's 46-yard boot wound up being the difference in the game. Heath Borgo was in the mix too, providing Hampton with two touchdowns.

Hampton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Shaler Area, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Coming up, Hampton will venture away from home to face off against Upper St. Clair at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Talbots will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Shaler Area, they will welcome Plum at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Titans' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
