Baseball Game Preview: Badin Rams vs. Licking Valley Panthers

The Badin Rams will square off against the Licking Valley Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Badin sitting on five straight victories and Licking Valley on nine.

Badin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Butler as they made off with a 10-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won 20 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Caleb Driessen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Badin got a massive performance out of Kade Bowling, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Cummins, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Badin hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Licking Valley challenged Circleville on Friday. The Panthers came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 6-2.

Badin pushed their record up to 28-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Licking Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 21-6.
