Recap: Falcon Falcons vs. Canon City Tigers
The Falcon Falcons had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 61-45 win over Canon City. Given Falcon's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Canon City is ranked 252nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Falcon to victory were Jeremiah Potts and Aiden Wood. Potts scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Wood scored 21 points along with five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wood has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Christian Bertholf, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Falcon's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Canon City, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Falcon will take on The Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Canon City, they will be playing at home against Coronado at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Coronado focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Wednesday.
