Volleyball Recap: Coral Springs Continues Road Dominance on Monday

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Coral Springs and Deerfield Beach meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Coral Springs Colts walked away with a 3-1 win over the Deerfield Beach Bucks. The Colts haven't had any issues with the Bucks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Coral Springs had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-17.

Joel Jobi paced Coral Springs' offense, picking up 15 kills. Jobi got some help from Mickinson Jean-Mary and his 24 assists. Finally, Daziano Barrett-Daly kept Coral Springs' defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

Zeryc Chalmers and Charles Edwards certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Chalmers had 16 assists and eight digs, while Edwards had 13 digs, nine kills, two aces, and one block. Chalmers has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last 13 times he's played.

Coral Springs pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Deerfield Beach, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
