Basketball Recap: Rocco Griguoli Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Tri-Valley

With a playoff win on the line, Marian Catholic rose to the challenge on Saturday. They snuck past the Tri-Valley Bulldogs with a 59-55 victory. This was a revenge game for Marian Catholic: when they faced off against Tri-Valley back in January, they had to take a 71-59 loss.

Marian Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rocco Griguoli led the charge by dropping a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. The game was Griguoli's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Gregory Tirpak was another key player, going 6-for-9 from beyond the arc to rack up 20 points.

Marian Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points over those games. Tri-Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-8 record this season.
