Basketball Recap: Tanque Verde Comes Up Short

Tanque Verde extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 2-4. They had to suffer through a 74-40 loss at the hands of the Coolidge Bears. The matchup marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

As for Coolidge, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 25 points or more this season.

Leading Coolidge to victory were Preston Dees and Turner Armstrong. Dees dropped a double-double with 21 points and 16 boards, while Armstrong posted 14 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. Dees' big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Porter Dees, who earned 13 points and seven boards.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tanque Verde will face off against Desert Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Coolidge, they will be playing at home against Snowflake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
