The Southwestern Heights Mustangs had to endure a 19-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Deerfield, posting a 53-25 win at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Southwestern Heights has managed all season.
Deerfield's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colten Musil, who scored nine points.
Southwestern Heights' win ended a 11-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-9. As for Deerfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Hopefully Stanton County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday. Deerfield will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Moscow at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Moscow is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
