Volleyball Preview: Cary-Grove Trojans vs. Huntley Red Raiders
Cary-Grove hasn't had much luck against Huntley recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cary-Grove Trojans will be staying on the road to face off against the Huntley Red Raiders at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Cary-Grove was able to grind out a solid win over Elgin, taking the game 2-0.
Cary-Grove never let Elgin on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22.
Meanwhile, Huntley came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Gators.
In the two sets Huntley was on fire: they won each by at least 14 points. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 25-10, 25-11.
Cary-Grove's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-23. As for Huntley, they pushed their record up to 20-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
