Football Game Preview: Senatobia Warriors vs. Ripley Tigers

The Senatobia Warriors will venture away from home to face off against the Ripley Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Senatobia is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 31.1 points per game this season.

On Friday, Senatobia was fully in charge, breezing past Aberdeen 41-6. With the Warriors ahead 34-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Jay Irby was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 30 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 163 yards and one touchdown on only ten passes. Those 163 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Deavion Watson was in the mix too, providing Senatobia with two scores.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Ripley faced off against Rosa Fort on Friday. The Tigers were outmatched by the Lions and fell 52-13. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Senatobia's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.8 points over those games. As for Ripley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Senatobia came up short against Ripley when the teams last played back in September of 2022, falling 6-0. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
