Football Recap: Fredonia Hillbillies vs. Eden/North Collins Raiders

Fredonia was the 30-6 winner over Eden/North Collins when they last played one another back in October of 2014, but their luck changed this time around. The Fredonia Hillbillies lost 50-30 to the Eden/North Collins Raiders on Friday. The Hillbillies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eden/North Collins to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brady Waring, who threw for 423 yards and six touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: Waring now passed for 307 or more in the last three games he's played. Silas Nellis was Waring's top target, picking up 238 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Fredonia's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2. As for Eden/North Collins, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fredonia will host Salamanca at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Salamanca will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Fredonia surely won't give up without a fight. As for Eden/North Collins, they will square off against Portville/Cuba-Rushford/Hinsdale Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
