Guthrie had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Eisenhower Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 on Thursday.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Guthrie who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 21-25, 15-10.

Guthrie's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Eisenhower, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Guthrie will challenge Marshall at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eisenhower, they will square off against MacArthur at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
