Volleyball Recap: Genoa-Hugo/Karval Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Deer Trail on Tuesday, Genoa-Hugo/Karval came back down to earth. The Pirates came up short against the Granada Bobcats on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-10, 25-16.

Kazlei Vaughn paced Genoa-Hugo/Karval's offense, picking up seven kills. Vaughn got some help from Rhegan Sitzman and her nine assists. Amy James controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Genoa-Hugo/Karval's loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 10-11. As for Granada, they pushed their record up to 19-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Genoa-Hugo/Karval wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Wiley on the 24th. As for Granada, they will face off against Bethune at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
