Basketball Recap: Zeeland East Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

The Zeeland East Chix walked away with a 45-35 victory over the Hamilton Hawkeyes. Given the Chix's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Hawkeyes are ranked 296th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Zeeland East's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Hamilton, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10.

Zeeland East has already played their next contest (against Spring Lake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hamilton will take on Zeeland West at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Zeeland West will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Hamilton surely won't give up without a fight.
